Comme le nom l'indique, un hackerspace est un lieu (''space'') pour hackers.


Il répond à une double vocation :

* en tant que lieu social, permettre à des hackers de se rencontrer ;
* en tant que lieu technique, permettre de lancer et réaliser des projets.

Géographiquement, nous venons de toute la Wallonie (Waterloo, Braine-L'Alleud, Liège, Stavelot, Tournai et bien sûr Charleroi).

Wolfplex is an alternative cultural center project dedicated to the counter culture at Charleroi.


Techniquement, certains de nos membres s'intéressent au développement open source, à la sécurité informatique, à l'émergence et le maintien d'une culture libre et d'un internet ouvert, aux arts numériques ou encore à l'électronique.

Voici quelques exemples de réalisation d'autres hackerspaces :
A place for hackers by hackers to meet and collaborate on projects.
* [[hsbxl:The Wandering Star]], un serveur qui tient dans une valise ;
* Au /tmp/lab de Vitry-sur-Seine, il y a eu récemment un workshop en vue de rendre OpenBSD bootable sur une Marvell Sheevaplug et une conférence sur la sécurité de SCADA.


De notre côté, nos membres sont intéressés par :

* retranscrire le vent à l'aide d'un [[anémoscribe]] (Spike)

* placer une antenne captant la foudre (Sinuso)
* réaliser un serveur d'enregistrement d'arc-en-ciel ou de cieux "intéressants" (Spike)
* expérimenter un benchmark d'overclocking (Darkknow)
* un atelier de C (jaguar, Spike, Aquarius)
* réaliser un système d'appels PSTN ou SIP automatisés, envoyant un message préenregistré (Sinuso)
* réaliser un thérémine (Lapsus_Clavis)
